    Pros

    The biggest pro is exposure to corporate clients, and that is just about it.

    Kontras

    The biggest con is day in day out people get hired and then they leave. Grayling hires brilliant minds only to do some shandy business behind working teams that just prompts most people to leave. They are not upfront with matters of employment. Their unethical way of doing things is what has made most of my former colleagues leave.

    Ich habe bei Grayling gearbeitet (Über 3 Jahre)

    Pros

    Flexible hours, some smart coworkers, occasional interesting client work. Competitive salary.

    Kontras

    Very top heavy. Valuable accounts staffed improperly... senior leadership/strategists have their eye on new business and not on helping to ensure quality of service on current accounts.

    Lots of politics and a few nasty people who are afraid of change.

    Annual bonuses are non-existent. Annual review process not consistent year to year.

    Button up internal processes like reviews and regular check-ins with employees of all levels to provide consistent constructive feedback. Stop all of the senior-level investment hiring and take care of the people you have.

    Pros

    Flexible work environment, great work-life balance, very positive and friendly people; ability to take initiative in your career growth and your ideas are heard; team is open to new perspectives and new techniques and not stuck in outdated PR tactics like so many other competing agencies. No micromanagers, no pushy people. By far a better workplace environment than any other agency out there.

    Kontras

    Very little downsides to working at the agency. Still developing its culture. Sky's the limit.

    Pros

    As a current employee out of the SF office, I’ll be the first to admit, the Grayling/Atomic merger wasn’t the smoothest of transitions. However, I do believe that the management team is dedicated in the team and genuinely cares about turning things around for the better.

    It’s an interesting opportunity, as it really is a place where you will get out of the work experience what you put into it. Right now, it’s an environment for self-starters with entrepreneurial interest, so sure, it might not be the right fit for anyone who is coming with agency experience. With that said, if you are the type that wants to proactively report your successes rather than be questioned about your value at the company, then it’s a good opportunity for you. There’s very little room to ride the wave; you have to constantly be thinking about your next move.

    WFH Fridays and flexibility with working remotely and cross-offices are also some great perks.

    The company tends to be in a constant state of flux, but I would say that most agencies have this character in some way shape or form. So, as long as you can navigate this and make it work in your favor, then it shouldn’t be a major issue.

    Pros

    Benefits, flexible hours and the ability to work from home on occasion, early Fridays all year is a nice perk, but many times you're too busy to take advantage of it.

    Kontras

    Cold, unfriendly, secretive work culture, extremely disorganised, severe lack of communication throughout the agency (even within teams), very low pay, consistently long hours and weekend work, management is out of touch and do not appreciate the hard work and talent of their colleagues, very few opportunities for growth, constant restructuring and redundancies have significantly reduced morale

    Advice to management?? Unfortunately this is not the sort of place where your voice or opinion matters. Management don't care what you think. It's all one big chess game.

    Pros

    Grayling has some beautiful offices throughout the world, a great finance and administrative team. The salaries are within or above expectation.

    Kontras

    The US CEO and many of his team are below average when it comes to management, loyalty, office politics and support for client. There is little-to-no high level strategic or creative support from Peter or those who report to him.

    Replace the current CEO for the US market with someone who has strong tech, digital media and Fortune 100 experience.

    Pros

    Fortunate to have worked in a fantastic team with excellent work, clients and support. Had an excellent MD at the helm and it was a very successful, happy team.

    Salary wasn't at industry level and title only promotions were known - but this is a long time ago.
