Shady place of employment - Machine Operator bei PacMoore : Mitarbeiterbewertung

A friend and I got hired and were both praised for our job performance and then out of nowhere and not knowing that we were friends called in a few days from each other and told for no reason that it just wasn’t working out!! I know others this has happened to. I don’t understand the motivation for this tactic by their management
