    Pros

    We're incredibly busy but that's a good thing. Always lots going on, interesting clients, and a cool group of co-workers.

    Kontras

    Heavy work load can get a little overwhelming. Work/Life balance can get out of whack sometimes because of that. But it's the nature of the business.

    Pros

    Working at 4media group is a constant professional evolution. The number of things the company engages in, between broadcast media tours, PR, marketing and digital makes every day exciting. Leadership is excellent at placing employees in positions that allow them to succeed, and giving people tasks that best fit their personal skillset. There is never a boring day, and the company culture is driven by a constant cadence of improvement, leading to employees who work well together, and also have fun outside the office.

    The only potential con comes in terms of time spent in the office. We work a lot, but it's typically really rewarding, and its also expected when one signs up to be a part of a fast-growing company.

    Pros

    I am one of the long-standing members for 4media and in my time I have had the pleasure of watching in grow. I have managed to diversify and grow my skill set over the years which has given me a good overview in various departments in our industry, but also creates an environment we call the 4media family because we are all out to help one another and get the best job done for our clients. The fact that I’m still with the company, 8 years and still going strong, is because I have been able to grow and develop my skills in each area and an understanding company that has allowed me to move throughout the group and various departments.

    As we’ve grown we now have multiple industry specialists in the different departments, as well as a counterpart in the US that’s taking the industry by storm which makes the work we do even more interesting than ever. This gives each of us in the company the chance to work with some of the biggest brands and agency’s out there. It’s an amazing feeling watching a project run from start to finish, working alongside friends/ co-workers and then seeing it be delivered to the media and consumer in its full glory – this is one of my favourite parts of the job.

    Down sides: We are busy which sometimes mean we can be stretched but being a close nit team we get through it with a smile. It’s not always busy however and the company often let us leave early which is great, especially in the summer.

    Keep employees longer and establish some consistency. Don’t try and just become another vendor offering same old crap with a bunch of inexperienced support. Clients know where to go by now if they want services done well .

    Hmmm where do I start: if you're looking to work in an office of animatronics that's the place. Very few people there actually know what they're doing - and unfortunately, they're (most) not at management level. That's because this company does not reward smart, knowledgeable people - it rewards flatterers, groupies, lackeys and minions. As long as you go along with the management you'll be fine. That's how most people got promoted there, being in the graces of X and Y.
    Asked to work overtime most days, terrible holiday allowance, cold-calling atmosphere with ridiculous high targets; lack of talented people in the company really kills-off even the few ones who know their job. Creativity is zero – brainstorms are just occasions for people to talk about what they did in the weekend or the night before; at the end a regurgitated idea used 10x times before will do.
    There is no interest in new ideas, no encouragement for less outspoken people to contribute, it’s a world of the few and favoured. Massive gap in salaries and again those on little do the most…
    Have left after a few years there, without actually learning anything useful, is an environment where gossip, lies and backstabbing are fostered and encouraged from the top. If you want a job where you can learn, develop a career, make a difference and most of all feel appreciated for your efforts – then this is NOT that place

    What management?
    Doubt anyone even reads these reviews – but if they do – please change your toxic environment, get rid of all the non-talents on fat salaries who spend most of their time on gossip and have no idea what they’re talking about, listen, encourage and promote those who are smart, skilled, and probably less vocal – they’re probably the reason you’re still in business; send people on training, give them more holidays and time off, offer some perks (maternal/paternal packages, pay-for-travelcard, chance to attend professional events/conf), invest in your staff not in your pockets.
    Honestly, I think is so bad that even the CEO had moved to USA, to get away from the bunch of animatronics that took over the company, many times he’s cut off from the reality of UK offices since no one has the courage to say something without being fired etc. You want to stay in business and succeed – make a change – from the top downwards!

    Pros

    Working at 4media improved massively over the last year or so with a huge shift in structure and company culture. Everyone is very friendly and there is plenty of opportunity to bond on nights out, afternoon bowling, Friday drinks etc.

    As there are multiple companies within the group I got the chance to learn about research, broadcast (TV & Radio), video and traditional PR which has helped me massively going forwards. Also, from a sales point of view it is good having experts at hand in each field to answer questions and give advice. I felt genuinely confident when delivering campaigns which makes a change from previous jobs!

    With the new structure there is good potential for growth/promotions if you are willing to put the work in. There is regular training and support is great if you need it but it is very much up to you to put the work in and build your own pipeline. This was great for me but some of the lazier sales people I’ve met may find it hard!

    There are also regular meetings to discuss perks etc. that people want which is nice. We recently started Yoga in the office on Fridays so it is likely more stuff like this will be happening in the future.

    There is not much in terms of a company benefits scheme at the moment.

    Holiday allowance isn’t as high as some previous jobs I’ve had.

    I really feel the company is moving in the right direction, with lots of new ideas and initiatives coming to fruition
    Collaborative working exists and is encouraged with lots of interaction between teams.
    Great team atmosphere, with more attention now, more than ever, on making staff happier at work
    Working with exciting brands and agencies on some fantastic projects
    Building our experience and overall offering to clients with new areas of expertise

    Sometimes our great ideas don't go further than simply being discussed, we need to ensure more things actually get done, but we are definitely getting better at this.
    The office can be a little chilly in the winter months and the lack of natural daylight can affect some people.

    Pros

    I love working here! I’ve been with the company for a few years now and still very happy. They are a sociable bunch and create a fun environment to work in. They say great companies attract great people and that they do as all of us have built lasting friendships. We seldom work long hours and the positive team work is so rewarding.

    There is not much natural light during the winter month as we are in a basement but the working space and environment makes up for it.

    Great team in which you are encouraged to share your ideas for creative campaigns as well as how to improve the business itself.
    A very friendly and sociable bunch - you will often find us all in the office bar at 3pm on a Friday.
    The teams work together to create the best campaigns for clients possible - sometimes under very strict time constraints - but deliver time & time again.
    Loads of variety in work from research to radio days, video production to print & online sell-in.
    Variety of clients from beauty to FMCG, finance to travel.
    Everyone has the chance to think creatively and get involved in brainstorms.
    Media teams are led by industry experts from the likes of ITV and BBC so they have first-hand knowledge of what will make a good story and get great coverage.
    If you're proactive and enthusiastic, you will thrive here.
    Rewards for doing well.
    Recent structural changes also mean that opportunity for progression is clearer.
    Not expected to work long hours unless working to deadline or preparing for a campaign - can often leave at 5pm without judgement.
    Flexi-time is now on offer which is so handy - can start anytime until 10am :)

    Wouldn't suit someone who needed micro-managing or constant encouragement - you need to be a self-starter, eager to learn and get things done and not wait for things to fall into your lap.
